‘Rick and Morty’ Gets an ‘X-Men: The Animated Series’ Makeover in New Promo

Adult Swim tweeted out the 15-second clip on Tuesday afternoon, and it features pretty much every character from Rick and Morty redesigned as classic ‘90s superheroes. But it’s also loaded with plenty of direct nods to the show. Rick’s no longer a thin old man because he’s transformed into a buff dude with grey hair that wears the same visor as Cyclops from the X-Men. Morty, rather than a sheepish kid with a stammer, instead looks a bit like One-Punch Man, and he has the ability to transform his right arm into one that’s super-buff — just like in “Rickmancing the Stone.”
