Since it premiered 2004, The Venture Bros. has been one of Adult Swim’s most beloved shows. Despite debuting 16 years ago, the show is only about to enter its eighth season. Showrunners Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer often take two to three years between producing new episodes in increasingly shorter seasons. Despite the trickle of new content, The Venture Bros. has maintained a rabid fanbase due to the quality of the show’s hilarious writing. But, The Venture Bros. does what few other cartoons do–let their characters change. In fact, they use character growth as the backbone for their humor, unafraid to dramatically shift the status quo if it serves a purpose.
